Economist Ethan McMahon reports that about half of all NFTs that sell cost less than $400, just enough to cover the costs of the blockchain.
McMahon also said that almost all of the resale action for NFTs, where real money is made, happens at the high end of the market; the vast majority of NFTs barely get resold at all. People who are looking to profit from whatever crazy hype there is around the NFT space really need to be careful, because many times it ends up being an investment to your detriment.
